What type of assigment would you like?
I would prefer assignments that align with supporting AAE’s work on SMEs, such as assisting in collecting and organizing data on African SMEs’ development status, market demand, or policy environments, and supporting the compilation of content for information dissemination (e.g., drafting preliminary social media copy or sorting out press release materials). Additionally, I am also willing to take on tasks like helping maintain basic communication records with SMEs to facilitate information sharing.
What are your reason(s) for choosing these tasks(s
My choices are closely tied to my academic and professional goals, as well as AAE’s mission. First, collecting and organizing SME-related data will allow me to directly access first-hand information about African SMEs’ operations, challenges, and development trends—this is critical for me to deepen my understanding of SME ecosystems, which will lay a solid foundation for my future studies in Innovation, Entrepreneurship, and Management. Second, supporting information dissemination tasks aligns with AAE’s goal of promoting SME achievements; through drafting simple promotional content, I can learn how to convey the value of SMEs to the public, while also practicing the copywriting and digital communication skills required for the role. Lastly, maintaining SME communication records helps me build a basic grasp of how AAE connects with enterprises, which further complements my understanding of SME development support mechanisms. All these tasks enable me to contribute to AAE’s work while achieving my learning objectives.
What are your expectations on working with AAE?
My expectations on working with AAE are three-fold. First, from a learning perspective, I hope to gain in-depth insights into the development context of African SMEs—including their operational models, policy impacts, and growth pain points—so as to better connect theoretical knowledge (e.g., from my future Innovation, Entrepreneurship, and Management studies) with real-world practice. Second, from a professional growth perspective, I expect to learn AAE’s project operation logic and standardized work processes under the guidance of the team; as a new intern, I am eager to receive constructive feedback to improve my ability to handle data and communication-related tasks. Third, from a collaboration perspective, I hope to integrate into AAE’s team smoothly, and contribute my modest efforts to tasks like data sorting or content preliminary drafting, to support AAE’s mission of promoting SME sustainable development and poverty reduction.
