Is AAE free?

Yes. There are no costs to use AAE services. All services are offered free of charge except for the issuance of membership and trainee certificates.

How does AAE protect user privacy and sensitive user information?

The AAE team manually reviews all registrations to ensure that bona fide members get admitted to the community. The visibility of the field in User Profiles are ranked: Public, Registered Only and Administrator. Whiles registration entries are publicly available on the profiles of members, entries to email address field is visible to registered users only.

For the Entrepreneur groups, questions related to  Enterprise Needs are visible to Registered users only: ” Current needs of your enterprise?”, and “How you will like the AAE community to help?”.

What services do you provide to entrepreneurs

International Business Matchmaking Events

International matchmaking and investor events helps bring together entrepreneurs, investors, and professionals from various corners of the world. These gatherings not only serves as a platform for showcasing innovative ideas and cutting-edge technologies but also foster connections that transcend borders and lead to valuable international business opportunities.

AAE experts, volunteers and interns offer tailored support to members by listening carefully to entrepreneurs and making time to guide them in their journey.   

Mentor-Mentee Pairing

Mentors provide business support and advice to young entrepreneurs and accompanied them through the process of setting up their business and finding solutions to specific business challenges. Participating entrepreneurs benefited from the mentor’s advice, knowledge and expertise in a specific industry. Finding a mentor via a AAE support staff entails a systematic approach to ensure alignment with an expert capable of guiding your professional journey effectively.

How can I find an AAE Volunteer to assist with my project?

Please first check the volunteer directory and send an introductory email out to someone. Experts, skilled or knowledgeable persons may offer tailored support on voluntary basis and remotely. You may also reach out to the AAE team for help in finding someone with the right skills, experience and attitude. Complete the Description of Task (DOT) form.

Do members get a free website + free hosting?

Yes. This is offered on a need basis:

  • Member can have one website and will collaborate with an AAE Volunteer in building the website on a Content Management System such as WordPress
  • Web hosting is a shared hosting service, is reliable and has 100% uptime.
  • The member will have administrator access to their installed Website CMS as well as an FTP account.
  • AAE manages server-side issues and member will have no direct access to the hosting CPanel and it’s technicalities
  • TLDs domain name registration and renewal is the responsibility of member

Do you have networking event for small business?

Yes. We hold networking events for entrepreneurs virtualy and locally.

All Volunteers FAQs

Is there monetary compensation for AAE online volunteering work?

No. There are no monetary compensation for online volunteering work. AAE Online Volunteers serve at their own pace and commitments can be flexible. Tasks can be undertaken whenever volunteers are available, and not heavily impacting their regular schedules. Served or active volunteers will be issued Reference or Appreciation Letters at the end of their volunteering term. AAE is forever grateful to all volunteers for their contribution without which it would be difficult to continue our work.

Are there some tasks that I can perform on my own?

Student FAQs

What is the purpose of the AAE Voluntary Internship Program?

The purpose of the AAE Voluntary Internship Program is to offer members of the AAE Students/Intern group practical learning experience in our operational areas. AAE collaborates with universities and educational institutions in the design of internship assignments and offers a convenient and independent path for students to apply for the internship at AAE. Students based in both African countries and non-African countries can apply through their institutions. AAE provides Completion Letters to successful interns.

What do Awareness Volunteers promote?

Awareness Volunteers/Interns select two or more published items from the AAE website and promote them across social media pages and relevant discussion forums each month. As part of the task, they record results (pageviews, comments, downloads, opinions etc) and share it in their progress and final reports. The promoted items may include:

How do I track the views on the articles I am promoting?

Track analytics from the page views tab located at the bottom right or the middle right of the article’s webpage.

How do I track user registrations. My promotions are forwarded accross several groups,

Trackable registrations is at least 4 registrations, bearing in mind that some registrations may escape tracking.

What kinds of discussion topics should I post on AAE Blogs

Research relevant topics that may interest the community and post (weekly, bi-weekly etc). Topics may include topics on entrepreneurship, sustainability or relevant news items. Topics should stimulate constructive replies and promote the mission of AAE. The key is to post  messages that members can connect with.   Ask relevant questions. Offer advice and suggestions, and be generous with your  knowledge.

What if two or more volunteers are promoting the same page? How do we get the number of views or conversion?

It will be a good idea to collaborate with volunteers who choose the same page(s) as yours. Often, the total number of final page views or conversions will be averaged.

How do AAE recognise successful Awareness Volunteers?

Successful volunteers are issued with the a Certificate of Appreciation and Service Excellence Badge .

How can I find Graphic Design Volunteer to help with a design for my promotions?

AAE would not provide materials for your social media awareness activities. We expect Awareness Volunteers to create these materials for their chosen page(s). However, you may also reach out to AAE volunteers working in the area of graphic design directly for tailored materials, if needed
