I read the article in AAE website entitled: Market Insights: The Online Soft Drink Advertising in Nigeria
It is interesting to know that “Nigeria is one of the largest advertising markets in Africa, but contrary to the trends in North American and European markets, most advertising spending in Nigeria from 2018 to 2020 was for TV and Video, followed by OOH advertising, and then digital advertising.”
The article also mentioned that compared to global brands, local brands do not have enough investment in advertising, yet online ads cost less compared to offline ads and TV.
Is there any reason that made the brands focused more on offline and TV ads instead of doing online advertisement in Nigeria? Do the trend stays the same (offline focused) or is it already changing by now?
