埃塞俄比亚位于非洲东部，人口数量居非洲第二，与中国有强烈的合作意愿，尤其是制造业和农业领域。
一、农业
埃塞的经济增长主要来自农业。小麦和畜牧业发展潜力巨大（Ababa “Livestock Marketing”），但受制于干旱的气候条件（Mera 24）、小农生产模式和过度依赖雨水的灌溉设施（Anteneh and Asrat 1），未来也极易受到气候变化的影响。此外，埃塞农业急需“数据农业”改革，为农民的耕种决策提供科学、及时的数据指导。（Oumer Hussein）

二、工业
埃塞迫切希望提升制造业在国家经济中的占比（Ababa “Trade and Development”）。但是该国工业基础薄弱，仅在纺织与服装产业（Ministry of Industry “Exhibiting Products”）和农业工业领域有一定的工业基础。埃塞建立了四个农业工业园，园区提供该国最好的基础设施，拥有丰富的投资机会，欢迎国际投资者。(Ministry of Industry, “Ethiopia IAIPs”)

埃塞有丰富的石油、天然气、水能等自然资源 （Fortune of Africa）和劳动力资源，工业发展潜力明显，在水电供应、通信网络和物流交通方面有较大的基础设施投资空间（World Bank xv）。
三、文化
1. 赠送礼物
埃塞商业场合没有赠送礼物的传统，初次见面不必携带礼物，若希望赠送礼物最好等到与埃塞的合作伙伴建立关系时。礼物切忌贵重物品，尽量选择非正式场合赠送，确保包装完整、双手呈递。埃塞宗教以伊斯兰教、基督教为主，礼物应考虑宗教禁忌（World Trade Press 1）。
2. 会见礼节
同性商业伙伴常致以对方热烈、正式的拥抱，异性商业伙伴则尽量避免身体接触。会见时应注意使用右手握手或交换名片，因为伊斯兰教认为左手是不干净的，还要避免用手指指人。（World Trade Press 2）
3. 时间观念
埃塞商人强调守时，多场会议中间要预备充足的通勤时间。（World Trade Press 22）
因为气候炎热，埃塞人工作日午休时间较长。办公室人员的工作时间一般是8:00-12:00/12:30，15:30-19:30，农民、工人上午会更早开始工作。（World Trade Press 10）
四、中国商人在埃塞
中国商人在埃塞非常活跃，规模较大的当属江苏永元投资有限公司投资兴建的国家级境外经贸合作区——东方工业园。

东方工业园有限公司于2008年正式成立，主导产业有农副食品加工业、服装业、医药制造业等，园区通过埃塞丰富的劳动力和电力，降低了成本，产品可通过东南非共同市场、美国和欧盟等关于非洲产品免关税免配额的政策进入非洲、中东和欧美市场。埃塞政府积极服务园区发展，园区内提供海关、税务等“一站式”服务，埃塞国家船运公司优先承接区内企业海陆运输服务，运费低5%，区内企业所得税享受至少5-10年免税期，外汇留存30%。（中国一带一路网）。
总体而言，埃塞政府正在竭尽全力为投资者创造优越的投资环境，热切欢迎农业、制造业领域的投资者，尤其期盼投资者能为该国应对气候变化、数据化挑战贡献力量。
